Same fender style fulcrum tremolo - Plywood body. Same olf block tremolo as the previous platinums. J series as their top of the line import guitar. Had a solid maple body. Black hardware and better pickups than the two lower series. An upgraded tremolo to a floyd rose copy instead of the cheap block style. Rich in small font just above the script logo. They featured a block tremolo licenced by Floyd Rose which is well known for tuning issues and the cheap lock nut well known for breaking strings. They were now made from an Alder body but no longer featured tremolos, instead cheap stop tail piece fixed bridges like the Bronze Series. These guitars all had Dot inlays ina 22 fret rosewood fingerboard. The only real difference in the Bronze and Platinums in the late 90's was the timber choice. They were made from the very basic parts - featuring an Agathis body agathis - aka Kauri Pine - more common used on building yacht's 22 fret rosewood fingerboard and dot inlays and stop tail piece bridges. Other than these guitars, we have never done it on an import guitar. The 10 special guitars were sent to Harris Publications in late 2003-2004. They were their property to sell or give away as they as they wanted. I believe they were going to use them at comic book conventions to promote the Vampirella character. But that may or may not be the case. Now if these guitars you are seeing have all of these oddities mentioned above and there are plenty of them, then obviously they are fakes.
